EDI handover: feedwater, measuring points and start-up interlocks

RO and EDI compatibility requires more than permeate conductivity. Check feedwater limits for the actual EDI model, sampling points, permission to energize, fault interlocks and operating records. Do not transfer another model’s flow or purity figures.

Confirm the exact EDI module model and applicable manual before selection or commissioning. Feedwater tables, rated flows and water-quality figures for another model cannot be copied into Gudian equipment specifications.

Evidence in the 2026 module manual

Revision 8 of the IONPURE VNX manual, dated May 2026, lists model-specific feedwater requirements involving factors such as conductivity, hardness, silica and carbon dioxide. It requires confirmation of flow and pressure before electrical power is applied. Whether RO permeate can feed an EDI module must still be checked against the selected model.

Separate equipment configuration from use requirements

“EDI included” describes a process and configuration. Suitability for a production task depends on its water-quality requirements, operating conditions and acceptance results. Without a model and reports, a webpage should not promise ultrapure quality, continuous stability or maintenance-free operation.

Frequently asked questions

Does EDI mean the entire system uses no chemicals? That is too broad. Module operation, upstream treatment, cleaning and maintenance are separate matters to check.

Can this webpage be used to commission equipment directly? It gives no electrical wiring, chemical-cleaning or interlock-bypass instructions. Suitably qualified personnel should use the actual equipment documents.

References and scope

References checked on 9 October 2026. These are public reference materials. Gudian prepared the information checklists for project enquiries. A supplier manual does not establish a brand authorization for this website, and a paper does not show that Gudian equipment has achieved its research results.

Further preparation

Equipment and consumable requirements can first be discussed remotely. Supply, installation and site visits are confirmed for each project. Send only the equipment and water-quality information needed for the enquiry, and conceal personal contact details and sensitive third-party information in photographs.
