A TDS meter gives information related to dissolved substances, but it cannot by itself answer whether water is safe to drink. First identify whether the water is for drinking, production or irrigation, and whether the sample represents feedwater, equipment outlet water or the actual point of use.
Current reference
As checked on 9 October 2026, China’s official standards database lists GB 5749—2022, Standards for Drinking Water Quality, as current, effective from 1 April 2023. It covers multiple groups of water-quality parameters. One TDS or conductivity value cannot replace testing of the applicable parameters.
What to check in supplier documents
| Document | What to identify | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Test report | Sample, sampling point, date, parameters, methods and report issuer | That one report represents every location and future period |
| Equipment documents | Actual model, components, intended uses and required approval documents | That a report for another model covers this one |
| Maintenance instructions | Cartridge model, maintenance basis, shutdown and return-to-service instructions | That a fixed life applies to any feedwater and usage |
| Delivery agreement | Acceptance sampling points, duty and action if requirements are not met | That website information guarantees every project |
Keep a record of an abnormal condition
Record when and where it occurred and the equipment state at the time. Share only the necessary parts of reports and photographs. If drinking-water safety is suspected, follow site management requirements and contact appropriate testing or professional personnel. Do not rely on a webpage to continue drinking the water or apply chemicals yourself.
Frequently asked questions
Does a lack of unusual smell establish compliance? Appearance and smell do not replace necessary testing.
Are a product certificate, test report and hygiene approval the same document? No. Check the entity, model, use and scope covered by each; their names should not be used interchangeably in promotion.
References and scope
References checked on 9 October 2026. These are public reference materials. Gudian prepared the information checklists for project enquiries. A supplier manual does not establish a brand authorization for this website, and a paper does not show that Gudian equipment has achieved its research results.

Equipment and consumable requirements can first be discussed remotely. Supply, installation and site visits are confirmed for each project. Send only the equipment and water-quality information needed for the enquiry, and conceal personal contact details and sensitive third-party information in photographs.
