High-altitude pump selection: location, temperature and suction layout

For water-treatment pumps in Yunnan, record the actual location, minimum water level, temperatures, suction layout and duty. Assess NPSH against the selected pump curve; a city or prefecture name cannot establish altitude or pump performance.

“The project is in Yunnan” is not enough to establish pump suction conditions. Locations, pump-room arrangements and duties can differ within one city or prefecture. Prepare actual site information for the designer to assess the selected pump.

Basic principles still matter

Grundfos technical information relates cavitation to local pressure in the pump falling below the liquid’s vapour pressure. Available and required net positive suction head need checking. Selection references consider atmospheric pressure, water temperature, suction losses and pump curves. Conditions or margins from one example must not be transferred to a different project.

What a remote enquiry can address

With adequate information, selection questions and missing records can be discussed first. Site installation, electrical work, testing and commissioning are confirmed per project. Follow site procedures for unusual noise, vibration or loss of flow; do not repeatedly restart pumps or adjust valves solely on webpage advice.

Frequently asked questions

Can fixed pump parameters be supplied based on Kunming, Diqing or Nujiang alone? No. A regional name helps locate enquiry information; it is not a measured site condition.

Does a motor’s suitability for altitude establish suitable pump suction conditions? These are separate questions. Request the relevant documents for each piece of equipment.

References and scope

References checked on 9 October 2026. These are public reference materials. Gudian prepared the information checklists for project enquiries. A supplier manual does not establish a brand authorization for this website, and a paper does not show that Gudian equipment has achieved its research results.

Further preparation

Equipment and consumable requirements can first be discussed remotely. Supply, installation and site visits are confirmed for each project. Send only the equipment and water-quality information needed for the enquiry, and conceal personal contact details and sensitive third-party information in photographs.
